Went to see Ironman 2 this past weekend. I have to say that I liked it, because I did, but there were certain things that bothered me. I don’t want to ruin anything for people that haven’t seen it yet, so be forwarned for potential spoilers.
Is it just me, or does Tony Stark always seem to make almost impossible things in a shockingly small amount of time? I mean, honestly, somehow I doubt that no matter how rich you are, you don’t just “happen” to have the parts for a particle collider kicking around. I think that Scarlett Johansson could have had more face time as Natasha Romanoff, seeing as how shes being billed as one of the huge stars of the film. Some of the plot was fairly predictable, especially where Hammer was concerned.
Don’t get me wrong there were a lot of things that I did like about the movie. The whole Ironman suit in a case, just like the comic, was awesome. Whiplash was fantastic in every way possible. And, really, who doesn’t love a superhero, who is a complete badass?
While I was at the Ironman showing, they has previews for a bunch of upcoming movies that looked totally sick. Such as:
July 2nd will see Avatar:The last Airbender come out in theaters.
It’s actually almost insane how stoked I am to see this movie. I’m still not 100% about how I feel concerning the 3D aspect of the film, but the content seems pretty legit. I have to admit though that the fact they are putting 3 books (seasons) into one film sort of worries me. I mean, its a series that has what, 61 episodes, all compacted into one 2 hour movie. It’s a little worrisome knowing that huge chunks are going to be taken out of the plot.
Despite that, I still think the movie is going to be great.
I’m not actually Carmen Sandiego, but I have been almost like an absentee landlord this past few weeks.
Don’t worry though, it isn’t just my site, but my WoW account, even my facebook has seen less of me. Twitter is the only one untouched since, lets face it, 140 characters take seconds, at best.
Now, in order to be a full time student at my school, you need to be in 3, minimum. Most people take 4 max. You see, it wasn’t exactly my best idea, but turns out I’m in 5 classes this semester. That works out to be about 4 extra hours of class time a week, plus another 6 or so hours of homework, minimum.
See where my life has gone?
I think I’ve got a balance that should work now, and I’ll have to see how it works out. This is sort of my tester week for it.
On another note, I found an old Harry Potter fanfiction that I did WAY back in the day. I’ll post the link up in Scribbles so you can all, essentially, laugh at me. When I say back in the day, I mean about 7 years ago, so between books 5 and 6 (close to 5 though).
I have been trying to do the WoW thing, since I AM the Guild master. We did a Naxx run the other day, with people from another guild. Since ours is so small, we’re thinking about merging guilds. I’m logging on later tonight to see if the other GM and I can come up with something we both like. Hopefully, the ones on my side will get a better name then Typhoon (no, I did not pick the name, I inhereted it)
I leave you with a few vids of songs Ive been listening to at stupid o clock in the morning, and stuff that gets me through the school day. Enjoy!

Happy Holidays to everyone! I hope that your holiday-whichever you choose to celebrate- was fun and happy.
I myself went with my almost husband to go see Avatar 3D. There was WAY more people there then I had expected! Our show sold out, as did the one before and after.
If you plan on seeing this movie, I highly suggest the 3d version. I’ve seen it both ways (we downloaded it and watched it on the laptop) and big screen and 3d was the way to go. The movie was fantastic small, but seeing it big was mind blowing. What makes this movie stand out is how seamlessly the 3d is integrated into the movie. Its so well done that, by the end of the movie, the most amazing thing is how much you DIDN’T notice the 3d. You just fell into the world, without even noticing.
I finished my book (!!), or at least the first draft. For some reason I thought it was a great idea to write it out on paper, so now I have to type it out and begin edits. I already know that its too short, so I have some scenes plotted out in my head that will add to both the flow and the plot. I’m excited to get them in. I conned my almost husband into typing it out for me because 1. I’m a slow typer and 2. he wants to get better at typing on his laptop. I just need him to do it. Preferably before school starts, in a week or so.
We all have that geek that we love in our lives. With the Christmas holiday fast approaching, one has to wonder-what the hell do you get a geek? This is especially hard for those people who are NOT geeks.
Makes buying harder when you have NO idea what geeks like.
Hopefully, this will help you buy for the geek you love, without looking clueless.
Tip #1- They play computer games, such as World of Warcraft, or Starcraft, and you want to get them a collectible figure. It’s a good idea, however, make sure you know WHAT they play. For example, if they play a horde character, don’t get something from the Alliance side. If you need to, casually ask them while they are playing, saying that a friend wanted to know.
Tip #2-Know what kind of geek you are buying for. This seems obvious, but there are more then one type of geek, and a lot of them overlap. First thing is to know what type you are buying for, then see what they have already. Fantasy geek? Look into new books, or see if their favorite author (s) is traveling, or speaking at a con and buy them tickets.

Tip #3-Want to buy them clothing? It isn’t impossible. It just takes some work on your part. Snoop around their closets, see what they have and pay attention to the sizes you see! Buying them something that’s too big is just as bad as buying them something too small. If it’s for a girl, its even worse, because then you insult them. ThinkGeek is always a good bet, and so is Jinx.
On this clothing note-I don’t suggest anything sexy, or handsome. It won’t end well, no matter how cute you think he/she will look in that dress top/skirt. The key to geek clothing is comfort and usability. If its a once in a while thing, it will be seen as useless.
Tip #4-Gift certificates are NOT the way to go. Ever. They are the epitome of laziness and proof that you really don’t know the person you are shopping for. Furthermore, it shows the person EXACTLY how much you spent on them, and, those things should be kept private.
Tip#5- Just because they like small toys and gadgets doesn’t mean they need a 12 pack of thumb drives, no matter how cute they are. In most (but not all) cases one is often enough. At most, 2.
