This has been bothering me…

For F sakes people, LEGGINGS ARE NOT PANTS!!! I am not entire sure what Twilight zone you happen to be living in (no this is not a reference to the poorly written psudo-vampire novels, rather the hit TV show from the late 50′s) but in no way, shape or form are leggings pants.

Which might be, oh, I don’t know, why they are called LEGGINGS and not PANTS! Which might just be the first clue.

Now, I know that there are a number of people against me on this one, simply because they happen to be male, and enjoy seeing the camel toe. Why you would want to see camel toe is beyond me, though. I happen to prefer a little bit of suspense and, you know, modesty.

This is a trend that NEEDS to stop. Nothing, and I really mean NOTHING will ever get me into a pair of skintight latex monstrosities unless I happen to be attending a S&M thing.

These are NOT attractive.

Now, please, save me hours of bitching and complaining, unsightly camel toe, and the need to point out spots of cellulite.

On a different note, I am heading to the Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle next week, where I shall meet and greet some of the hot names in the world of nerds. Look forward to the update!

PS-Deathclok, I do have photos for you, expect them this weekend.

New patch, or…

How it helps me procrastinate.

I SHOULD be doing wedding stuff, seeing as its now only 5 months away, but, frankly, it sucks. Seriously, I wouldn’t wish wedding planning upon my worst enemy.

well, actually, I would, but regardless, its a pain in the ass. The only thing that’s actually concrete is the venue and my dress. That’s it. We don’t even have a damn guest list.

But, I digress!

New patch!

I have to say,  I LOVE the new LFG tool. Saves me loads of time looking for a damn healer-if I’m playing my DK, or a tank, if I’m playing my healer. It also opens up what I get to do, instance wise, rather then whatever the rest of the group picks, since its completely random. Keeps the game from getting boring by doing ToC, or the new Halls ones. Not that I don’t enjoy them, but it’s a nice treat to do, say, heroic nexus or Gun Drak. My other favorite thing about the LFG tool is that, using the eye icon on your minimap, you can port to the instance, and, should you need to repair, you can port right back in. Saves a lot of time flying, and hearthing.

My biggest beef with the LFG tool is the vote to kick. Now, actually, that’s a bit hasty. It’s actually quite handy when someone DC’s, or is unbearably rude, but it also enables the elitists to be MORE elite. I’ve had people give my DK flak when she doesn’t do 3k dps in a REGULAR. I know she still needs new gear, why do you think I would do regular, rather then heroic? Honestly, the nerve of some people.

I’ve pretty much blocked an entire server. I wish I was joking.

I haven’t gotten to do ICC yet, but I do know that you don’t actually get to fight the Lich King yet. Apparently, the release date for the second wing is going to be in April sometime. A little disappointed, but since I don’t have the gear score to get in, it doesn’t affect me much. As for the new instances-pit of sauron, hall of reflection and…Pit of souls? Hall of souls? Whatever. I like the new ones. A bitch to heal, sometimes  and I would think tank, as well, but overall something fun and different.

And,  has anyone else noticed the almost Jazz music that plays after you beat the first boss in Forge of Souls? Whats up with that?

I should be doing wedding stuff, but, I think the Winter Veil achievements deserve my attention more.

Gift Buying for geeks

We all have that geek that we love in our lives. With the Christmas holiday fast approaching, one has to wonder-what the hell do you get a geek? This is especially hard for those people who are NOT geeks.

Makes buying harder when you have NO idea what geeks like.

Hopefully, this will help you buy for the geek you love, without looking clueless.

Tip #1- They play computer games, such as World of Warcraft, or Starcraft, and you want to get them a collectible figure. It’s a good idea, however, make sure you know WHAT they play. For example, if they play a horde character, don’t get something from the Alliance side. If you need to, casually ask them while they are playing, saying that a friend wanted to know.

Tip #2-Know what kind of geek you are buying for. This seems obvious, but there are more then one type of geek, and a lot of them overlap. First thing is to know what type you are buying for, then see what they have already. Fantasy geek? Look into new books, or see if their favorite author (s) is traveling, or speaking at a con and buy them tickets.

Tip #3-Want to buy them clothing? It isn’t impossible. It just takes some work on your part. Snoop around their closets, see what they have and pay attention to the sizes you see! Buying them something that’s too big is just as bad as buying them something too small. If it’s for a girl, its even worse, because then you insult them. ThinkGeek is always a good bet, and so is Jinx.

On this clothing note-I don’t suggest anything sexy, or handsome. It won’t end well, no matter how cute you think he/she will look in that dress top/skirt. The key to geek clothing is comfort and usability. If its a once in a while thing, it will be seen as useless.

Tip #4-Gift certificates are NOT the way to go. Ever. They are the epitome of laziness and proof that you really don’t know the person you are shopping for. Furthermore, it shows the person EXACTLY how much you spent on them,  and, those things should be kept private.

Tip#5- Just because they like small toys and gadgets doesn’t mean they need a 12 pack of thumb drives, no matter how cute they are. In most (but not all) cases one is often enough. At most, 2.

My recommendations! (or, things I want)

Caffeine, now in bling!

Never be OOM again

Druid FTW

Hope this helps!

Alternate reality? Count me in!

I have mentioned-several times I’m sure-that I love books. Reading is one of those sacred past times that I would never dream of interfering with.

I don’t believe in New years resolutions, not really. However, one thing that could conceivably be MY resolution is to read 50 books in that coming year. I’ve been on this mission for the past 4 years or so, and, have only failed once.

I blame that on World of Warcraft.

This year, I am sitting at a healthy 34 books so far, and I have a To Be Read pile that stands nearly as tall as me. I live to read urban fantasy, high fantasy, horror, fiction, sci-fi and pretty much anything I can get my hands on.

Need author suggestions?  I’m a fairly good person to head to for that.

That all said, I have been working on my own writing as of late, and, frankly, I think its going fairly well. As such, I am adding a little area on this site to show off some of my mad writing skills.

Who knows, maybe I can be the next Laurell K Hamilton. Haven’t heard of her? I suggest you get on it!
